Towering 9,718 feet (2,962 m) above sea level, the Zugspitze is the highest mountain in the German Alps. Several mountain huts provide accommodation on the mountain as well as stunning views for day visitors, including Munchner Haus, accessible by an ingenious system of cable railways. On clear days, you can see across four countries from the peak: Germany, Austria, Switzerland and Italy!
