The city of Toledo was made a World Heritage Site in 1986 for its rich historical and cultural monumental heritage. Known as the Imperial City, Toledo is also known for having Christian, Muslim and Jewish culture co-exist. The city is believed to date back as far as the Bronze Age, and was once a main commercial and administrative center during the Roman times. Toledo is currently known for its metal-working industry and for producing its famous blades.
