The Whitsunday Islands are a group of 74 islands that lie off the coast of Queensland, Australia. Forming part of the Great Barrier Reef, most of the islands are designated as national parks. There are campsites on many of the islands, and adventurous campers can hop from island to island by kayak, sailboat or powerboat. Other attractions include coral reefs for snorkeling and diving, pristine beaches, and gorgeous aquamarine waters. The island group is centered on Whitsunday Island, while its commercial center is Hamilton Island.
