The largest Gothic cathedral and the third largest church in the world is also a UNESCO World Heritage site. Seville Cathedral, which also boasts the largest altarpiece in the world, stands on the site of the 12th-century Almohad mosque, whose towering minaret (the Giralda) can still be found here but is now a bell tower. If all this isn’t impressive enough, the cathedral also houses the tomb of Christopher Columbus.
