It was originally called Nuevo Estadio Chamartin after the stadium it replaced, but eight years later it took the name of the club president who had it built. Santiago Bernabeu Stadium, in central Madrid, hosted the World Cup in 1986. Today, visitors can take self-guided tours that include the presidential box, press room, players’ tunnel, dugouts, locker rooms and trophy room. The stadium seats more than 85,000.
