Sag Harbor is an incorporated village located in Suffolk County, New York. The village is located withing both the East Hampton and Southampton towns. Three-fifths of the village is located in Southampton and two-fifths is located in the East Hampton; the line separating both towns is Division Street. Majority of the village's landmarks and main attractions are located on the Southampton, including Main Street, Whaling Museum and Otter Pond. Sag Harbor was settled between 1707 and 1730, and was formerly a major oil port and was declared the first official port on entering the United States. The village is also an ecological island and serves as a home for endangered species since it is surrounded with nature reserves.
