The Rhine River is a European river that begins in the Swiss canton of Graubuenden and continues along Europe, through Germany, Austria, Switzerland, France, Liechtenstein, eventually emptying in the Netherlands. It is one of the most known European rivers, and it is the twelfth longest river in Europe. It is also best known for the many castles that outline the river such as the famous Katz Castle located above the German town of St. Goarshausen in Rhineland-Palatinate.
