The city of Redding is situated in the Sacramento Valley and is the fourth largest cites in that valley. Redding is situated on the former Siskiyou Trail. The area of Redding was first settled by Native Americans of the Wintu tribe around the year 1000. The city wasn't officially incorporated until 1887 with a population of 600 people. Redding hosts annual events, and is also the home of the Sundial Bridge located in Turtle Bay.
