This amazing Yellowstone National Park attraction has been forming throughout thousands of years and continues to change with naturally hot water rising through the travertine formations. Notable points of Mammoth Hot Springs are Liberty Cap, Minerva Terrace, Palette Spring and Cleopatra Terrace. Mammoth Hot Springs Historic District that lies next to the hot springs is on the U.S. National Register of Historic Places and features Fort Yellowstone, Mammoth Hot Springs Hotel and Dining Room and Yellowstone Main Post Office.
