View this ancient Tuscan town from its intact Renaissance-era city walls that completely encircle it, whose ramparts are replete with a tree-lined footpath that looks down on the historic center and out towards the Apuane Alps. Lucca is just as impressive from its cobbled city streets with its lovely piazzas and shady promenades that are perfect for the passeggiata, an evening stroll that is a favorite pastime of Italians all over Italy. Not to be missed is the Puccini House Museum, where you will find some of native son Giacomo Puccini’s music scores from his operas, photos and a piano.
