Lake Argentino is the biggest fresh water in Argentina, with depths of 1640 feet and a surface area of 566 square miles. Located within the Los Glaciares National Park, the lake is fed by numerous glaciers and rivers. Frequently chunks of glaciers break off into its waters to form icebergs. It has become popular among tourists to travel by boat from the neighboring town of El Calafate to visit and hike across the Perito Moreno, Upsala, and Spegazzini Glaciers.
