The city of Kingman, Arizona, is the county seat of the Mohave County, where the city resides. Kingman was founded in 1882 when the area, which is now Kingman, was only Arizona territory. Kingman later became a county seat in 1887. The city of Kingman was a site for the U.S. Army Air Force during World War II, known as the Kingman Army Airfield. The city is conveniently close to the Hualapai Mountains and is the closest city to the Grand Canyon Skywalk.
