The stunning shallow water bay located along a pristine white sand beach on the northwest side of Maui is a popular spot on the "Valley Isle." Kapalua Bay is surrounded by two reefs making the waves soft allowing for better swimming and snorkeling. The beach used to be called Fleming Beach until is was renamed after the neighboring Kapalua Resort that was built in 1992. Kapalua Bay's beach frequently is named "Best Beach" by various travel publications and television shows.
