Oil tycoon Henry Flagler had this magnificent 55-room Palm Beach mansion built for his third wife Mary Lily Kenan and is now open to the public for tours, exhibits and special events. The Henry Morrison Flagler Museum, also referred to as Whitehall, was called "more wonderful than any palace in Europe, grander and more magnificent than any other private dwelling in the world" by the "New York Herald" when it was finished in 1902. The Gilded Age palace was designed in Beaux Arts style by the architecture firm Carrère and Hastings and is a U.S. National Historic Landmark.
