See the International Court of Justice in the cosmopolitan seat of government in the Netherlands. The Hague is a stately city teeming with embassies and more than 150 international organizations. The UN International Court of Justice is housed in the Peace Palace, a majestic building that was initially donated by American steelmaker Andrew Carnegie for use by the International Court of Arbitration. The Hague also has a number of museums, one of the most notable being the Escher in Het Paleis Museum, once Queen Emma’s palace but now home to the work of Dutch graphic artist MC Escher.
