Though only 148 feet high, the sheer force of water that flows through Dettifoss's 330 foot width has earned it the title of "Most Powerful Waterfall in Europe." Situated in the Vatnajokull National Park in Northeastern Iceland, the falls flow from the Jökulsa a Fjollum river, the second largest in Iceland, which extends from the Vatnajokull Glacier. Located on the Diamond Circle, a popular tourist route through Iceland, Dettifoss is considered a must see site in Iceland alongside the Myvatn Lake, Husavik, and asbyrgi Canyon.
