The self-proclaimed "oldest continuously inhabited mining town in the state of Arizona," this destination was named after the silver chloride discovered in its hills. Chloride was established in 1863 after many minerals including silver, gold, lead and zinc were found in the region. Today, the town promotes itself as a "Living Ghost Town" with Old West gunfight re-enactments, mining relics and historic structures as well as yard art, tractors and gift shops.
