Caye Caulker is a small limestone coral island off the coast of Belize in the Caribbean Sea. Its charming laid-back atmosphere and intriguing natural features, including many underwater limestone caves, are a big draw for scuba divers, windsurfers and other visitors. In addition to being a center for painters, the island also features a variety of quaint hotels, restaurants, shops, and a lively hip-hop and reggae music scene. Approximately 20 miles (32 km) north-northeast of Belize City, it is accessible by high-speed water taxi or small plane.
