The borough of Bernville is located in Pennsylvania, bordered by Penn Township and Jefferson Township. The area, which was was originally the confluences of the Tulpehocken Creek Valley and Northkill Creeks, was first inhabited by Lenape people. The area was later bought by Switzerland immigrants and the first house was built in 1820. Bernville wasn't incorporated as a borough until 1851. Bernville's Main Street has many buildings dating back to the 19th century, along with the borough's two churches.
