This address is known as the official office of the British Prime Minister and often referred to as "Number 10." Located in London's City of Westminster, 10 Downing Street began as houses constructed between 1682-84 for statesman Sir George Downing. The buildings were designed by Sir Christopher Michael Wren. The famous address has been the home of the Prime Minister since 1735 and had a long and interesting history with many major decisions were made there including strategies for both World Wars.
